Morgantown 70, Martinsburg 63: MARTINSBURG — Nicky Solomon poured in 23 points, Torin Hanson added 16 to go with six assists, and the defending state champion Mohigans (10-2) swept three road games from three strong opponents on the week.
Deon Agnew contributed 13 points for Morgantown, which also beat Musselman and Parkersburg South.
“That was a good week for us,” Mohigans coach Dave Tallman said. “We had to gut it out, we had some tired bodies. But our guys stepped up and gutted it out, and I’m proud of their effort. Gotta keep it going.”
A big difference in the game: Morgantown got to the free throw line 31 times and made 16 shots, while Martinsburg was just 5 of 13.
The Mohigans return home Monday to face Brooke.
The Bulldogs (8-4) got 26 points from Corey Barnett and 11 from Grant Harman.
